According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO), it is estimated that between 1.3 and 4.0 million people worldwide are affected by cholera each year, leading to approximately 21,000 to 143,000 deaths annually. In Ghana, the country has faced several cholera outbreaks in recent years. As of November 28, 2024, there have been 203 confirmed cases and 22 reported deaths due to the disease. It is essential to understand what cholera is and to recognize the symptoms to identify if you may have the disease.
