Increasing the size of the entrance breaker panel is a task often required for small houses or older homes wired on a 60-amp service or even up to 100 to 200-amps which was more than enough at one time, but unable to supply present electrical needs. Service panels at 300 to 400-amps, however, are very common for larger houses, especially with all the new types of electrical appliances, heating/cooling systems. Upgrading is not a task however that will come cheap or incidental but it should be done in a well planned and organized manner.
